INBUILT
Innovative, bio-based/geo-sourced, reusable, and recycled
products, combined with a BIM-based digital platform for very low-carbon
construction, the circular economy, and energy and resource efficiency.
About the Project
INBUILT is an EU-funded Horizon Europe project focused on transforming sustainable construction
practices in Europe. The project’s lead partner is Université Côte d’Azur,
will develop and demonstrate 10 innovative construction products and systems designed to
significantly reduce the carbon footprint of buildings.
These products, which use local organic and geographical materials as well as reusable
and recycled components, will be tested under real-world conditions
in demonstration buildings in France, the United Kingdom, and Germany. The INBUILT collaborative approach,
involving a consortium of 16 partners, aims to advance the construction sector by demonstrating
the viability of sustainable materials and construction techniques.
In addition, these solutions will be complemented by a digital platform that uses a building information
modeling approach to optimize the viability of construction projects by improving the delivery of integrated projects
. This initiative aligns with European sustainability goals by promoting resource conservation and
efficiency in the construction industry.
